Mission Statement

“Urban Teen Magazine” is a magazine written for and by San Diego local teens (13-18 years old) and distributed as a free magazine to all participating middle and high schools in San Diego City Unified school district, select recreational teen centers and libraries. Urban Teen Magazine will be a magazine dedicated to teens with stories that affect them, such as local & current events, music, beauty & fashion, technology, sports, community local heroes, as well as feature articles.  It is our Goal and Mission to provide the opportunity for talented local 8th – 12th grade students an outlet to showcase and develop their writing skills, and provide them with a chance to obtain scholarships to pursue their educational aspirations, as well as receive recognition from their community and peers. All advertisers automatically receive a free listing on our site with a link to their site.

Circulation and Distribution 2008

Urban Teen Magazine is a bi-monthly publication. Urban Teen Magazine on launch date (January2008) will print and distribute up to 50,000 copies of the magazine each issue. It is estimated that for every 1 copy there will be 5 viewers, estimating a beginning circulation of 250,000.   The targeted teen market will receive the free magazine distributed to their local county teen centers, local libraries, select teen frequented clothing boutiques, eateries and events. We are in the process of being distributed in every middle and high school in San Diego. Urban Teen Magazine also plans to expand to other California and southwestern state school districts (Los Angeles, Orange & Riverside Counties, San Francisco and Las Vegas) in the near future.  Because Urban Teen Magazine is a free publication we depend solely on advertising for production and distribution.
