Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in Urban Teen Magazine. We are a Bi-Monthly Teen Magazine, we publish six issues plus one bonus special prom edition annually. We accept solicited and unsolicited submissions. Please allow six to eight weeks for a response. Before you submit anything to the magazine, be sure you are familiar with our demographics and content. An Urban Teen writer should understand our readers and the goal of our magazine.
Urban Teen Magazine features upbeat and positive stories about teens everywhere, from high school and college students to teen celebrities and role models with an emphasis on teens and individuals making a difference in their community and position in life.

You will be contacted by Urban Teen Magazine if we accept your article, photo, or illustration and we will let you know when it will be scheduled to be publish in an upcoming issue.
WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS
To submit your ideas, please write a query letter that includes the following:
Please submit original work only, you will be asked to verify authenticity.
Convey your specific qualifications to write on this topic
Send writing samples, if you have them
Specify the section of the magazine for which the piece is intended
Specify the proposed story length: Urban Teen articles should be between 200 -500 words.
Include possible experts (if it is a reported piece) and what access you have to them
Specify if you will be submitting media (images, art, etc.) to accompany the piece.
Provide an explanation of why this idea would appeal to a Urban Teen Magazine.
Specify whether you would like this submission to be considered for our website as well.
Query letters for specific features and departments should be no more than one page in length and accompanied by recent writing samples.
Note: All submissions must meet above guidelines in order to be published.
ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURE
Once your article has been written, please keep in mind that there will likely be more work to do. Additional research and editing are normal parts of the editorial process. For substantial changes, stories will be returned to writers for revisions or rewrites. Last-minute cuts without notification may be necessary because of space limitations or quality issues.
Product & Media Samples
Urban Teen Magazine is interested in receiving review copies of new CDs, books, movies, shows and product samples for possible inclusion in our newly expanded online and print arts section. A press release, including contact info should accompany all submissions. Please bear in mind that Urban Teen is unable to respond to each submission individually.
Press Releases
Urban Teen Magazine prefers to receive public relations inquiries and press releases at info@urbanteenmagazine.com. We are interested in teen relatable news stories and celebrity news highlighting the positive contributions of hollywood young people and role models in the community and media. We are however, interested in hearing about great new creative projects, events that can inspire and uplift our readers.
Remember that we publish only six times a year, plus our special prom edition and work on a two to three month lead time—so let us know about your projects as early as possible. Sorry we are not able to respond to each press release individually.
MINORS
Anyone under 18 should include a parents contact information, as well as their own.
COMPENSATION
At this time no contributors receive cash compensation. All contributors are given credit for article.
